Plateau
Vineyards was established in 1994 and
is the only winery licensed within the boundaries
of the Santa Rosa Plateau. The founder of Plateau
Vineyards, George M. Schaeffer, has resided on the
Plateau since 1989. It was apparent to George after
he settled into
his new surroundings that the Santa Rosa Plateau shared
many similarities with other legendary (wine) grape
growing areas in California such as the Sonoma and
Napa Valleys. Like these regions, the Santa Rosa Plateaus
volcanic soils combined with the unique microclimate,
created by its 2400' elevation and its close proximity
to the ocean, were sure to produce grapes with distinct
characteristics and intense flavors. Plateau Vineyards
currently farms fifteen acres of Bordeaux grape varieties.
These superior grapes, grown on the Santa Rosa Plateau,
allow Plateau Vineyards to consistently craft fine
wines with distinctive and memorable qualities.

Founded in February 2008, the Rest
A While Equine Rescue Foundation seeks
private ranches and rescue ranches to join our compassionate
care network of people
with the ability to provide protective care to horses,
donkeys and mules suffering from abuse, neglect, abandonment
and potential slaughter. Debbi Vienna, president and
founder, began with the hope of creating a go-to organization
for any horse situation whether it be placement or
financial trouble, the equine community is in need
of a horse 911. With the community's support we can
make a change in the placing and treatment of these
gentle creatures.
