Classes with Nature in Sight

Community Education Classes are for those who desire to capture and experience different aspects
of the natural world. Class fees are a tax-deductible donation to the Santa Rosa Plateau Foundation
in support of the children education programs at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve.

Introduction to photography and camera basics. Subjects covered: shutter speed, aperture, depth of field, exposure modes (program, AV, TV, etc),ISO, auto focus and manual focus, all about lenses, how to handle tricky light (backlight, spotlight), electronic flash, photographic accessories (lenses, tripods, filters, gadget bags, memory cards, etc.).

Students will learn how to take their photos to the next level. Subjects covered will include color and exposure correction, cropping, sharpening, sizing, e-mailing photos and generally improving the quality of the photo. The class will also cover shooting photos in “raw” mode and the process for transforming the raw photo into a usable image for printing.

Join award winning wildlife photographer Richard Cronberg as he introduces you to the exciting world of wildlife photography. In this workshop he will cover in detail what equipment to use, where to go to get great photos, basics of wild animal behavior, and tips on what makes a prize-winning photo. He will also talk about how to enter and win photo contests and how to market and sell photos. Richard has been a successful wildlife photographer for 35 years and has been honored by the National Wildlife Federation, Cornell Lab of Ornithology and many others. He has also taught private photography classes for 30 years. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers and over 200 photos are included in the presentation. So, why not learn from the best?
