Photography Classes at the Plateau

Learn how to become a great photographer at the beautiful
Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve in Murrieta.

Class Descriptions

Level 1, “Planting the Seeds” - June 19, 26, 2010– Geared to learning the basics of photography emphasizing digital photography. Class consists of two 3-hour sessions held on the Saturday afternoons. Subjects covered will be learning about your camera (dials, numbers, ISO, light meter, camera care, etc); advantages of digital photography; learning different exposure modes (AV, TV, Program, Manual, etc.) and understanding depth of field, controlling action and recognizing different lighting conditions.

Level 2, “Harvesting Your Corp” - Dates to be announced - Will consist of two 3-hour classes held on Saturday afternoons. Subjects covered will be: learning the importance of light, backgrounds and foregrounds, basic composition, understanding lenses, learning what makes a great photo, saving, storing and printing photos, importance of Photoshop and other enhancing programs, and how to take great scenery, flower and wildlife photos. There will also be a short field trip at the Reserve at the end of class 3.

  • 20 person limit per class on a “first come” basis. 10 person minimum. If there are not enough students prior to class time, class will be rescheduled.
